Herts Wild Art
Herts Wild Art, kindly supported by Arts Council England, was created as a celebration of the amazing wildlife and wild places in Hertfordshire and Middlesex through the medium of art. Nature provides inspiration for creativity and Herts Wild Art celebrates both the art and the wildlife that inspires it.
In 2022 and 2023, we ran a collection of arts workshops and events that took inspiration from nature and wildlife.
You might also have met Willoughby - a giant willow hedgehog sculpture from talented willow-weaving artist Deb Hart. Willoughby toured around Hertfordshire throughout the summer 2022 encouraging everyone to get involved before moving into our wonderful Wildlife Garden at Grebe House. If you're in St Albans, why not visit Willoughby!
Don’t worry if you didn't make any of the events, you can still get involved in wildlife inspired arts. Below we've got tutorials on how to draw birds by artist Martin Gibbons along with ideas of crafts you can create at home. Don't forget to share your nature-inspired artistic creations with us on social media using the hashtag #HertsWildArt.
