We have teamed up with The Big Give who are going to double donations made to the Trust between 22-29th April 2022, up to £5,000*. The money raised will help protect our local bees and other pollinators – which are essential to us all for a happy and healthy natural world.
Pollinators, like bees, are vital to keeping our local area full of life. However, it is no secret these amazing little creatures are under threat. Sadly, in the East of England 73 species of bee are threatened, regionally extinct or of conservation concern.
Habitat loss is one of the main causes of their population decline. One of the most critical habitats for bees are wildflower meadows. Since the 1930’s we have lost a devastating 97% of our wildflower meadows across the UK.
At this time of year, you could once find fields bursting with beautiful wildflowers and hear the buzzing of bees busy at work. Now, so many of these wonderful wildflower meadows, and the bees that rely on them for food, have been lost.
It’s not too late. You can make a difference and help keep our bees buzzing. Your donation will help to care for and protect the local wildflower meadows that bees, and other pollinators, need to survive. It will fund vital conservation work needed to care for these nature reserves through traditional management and grazing.
Please help local bees and get Hertfordshire and Middlesex buzzing again. One donation, double the impact.
*Donations made after the matching pot has been exhausted will not be doubled. However, your donation will still support our work to protect bees and other pollinators.
